Biography
Robert Low McPhail was born in Barrhead (Renfrewshire) on 25 October, 1905. He died on 24 August, 2000.
Bob McPhail had a lengthy career at the top level, and an extraordinarily long life. His first club was Airdrieonians, and while still just 18 he had won the Scottish Cup in 1924. He spent four seasons at Broomfield, knocking in the goals regularly (74 in 109 matches) which made him an obvious target for a bigger club and he signed for Rangers in April 1927. He stayed at Ibrox until 1941,
