Alexander Venters was born in Cowdenbeath on 9 June, 1913. He died on 30 April, 1959.
Venters was an accomplished inside forward, who signed for local side Cowdenbeath in 1930 and made an immediate impact on the team. This was noticed by Rangers, who rescued him from relegation with Cowden by signing him in November 1933, and this began a very successful affiliation at Ibrox.
