George Connelly

George Connelly was born in High Valleyfield (Fife) on 1 March, 1949. A rare talent, George Connelly's brief playing career was blighted by a series of disputes and difficulties with Celtic, which curtailed his potential. He joined Celtic in 1966 from Tulliallan Juniors, and spent ten years at Parkhead with conspicuous success. Playing at inside left or left half, he won four Scottish League championships from 1970/71 to 1973/74, and the Scottish Cup in 1971 and 1972. He also appeared
