Biography
The central defender began his career at Arbroath in the Scottish Second Division, making his debut in 1999, aged 17.
He joined Hearts in 2001, and went on to have spells at Wigan, Rangers, Bristol City and Dundee United, before returning to the Edinburgh club in 2011.
He made his Scotland debut in a 2-0 friendly defeat to Austria in April 2003, and scored his first goal in a 1-1 draw with USA at Hampden in November 2005.
He appeared in a 3-0 B squad win over Northern Ireland in 2009, and made his first senior appearance for four years when he was recalled by Craig Levein for a friendly match against Czech Republic in 2010.
