Biography

Alex progressed through the Burnley youth ranks and was promoted to the senior squad during the 2007–08 season, coming on as a substitute, replacing Wade Elliott on April 26, 2008 in the 3–3 draw against Cardiff City. In January 2011 MacDonald signed on loan for Inverness until the end of the season. His move north meant a second spell in the SPL following a loan spell in the 2009/10 season at Falkirk.
