Jordan Rhodes
Biography
Season 2011/12 was a memorable year for striker Jordan Rhodes. He was the top scorer in England with 36 league goals, breaking then-League One side Huddersfield Town' club record for most league goals scored in a season.
He also struck eight times for Scotland under-21s, becoming the country's all-time leading scorer at that age group.
In August 2012, he became English football's most expensive player outside the top flight when he joined Championship side Blackburn Rovers for £8 million, equalling the club's record transfer fee.
Although born in Oldham, England, he chose to play for Scotland. He is eligible through the five-year schooling rule, after growing up in Scotland while his father, goalkeeper Andy Rhodes, played for Dunfermline, St Johnstone and Airdrie.
Rhodes made his debut for Scotland under-21s in in a 1-0 loss to Belgium in March 2011. He scored his first goals, a hat-trick in a 5-1 away win over Luxembourg, in October that year. A month later he was called-up to the senior squad by Craig Levein for an away friendly against Cyprus, and came on as a late substitute in a 2-1 win.
He made his first start, and scored his first senior goal for the national side, in a 3-1 friendly win over Australia at Easter Road in August 2012.
