Gary Caldwell
Position: Defender
Biography
Gary has carved a reputation as a ball-playing centre back who is comfortable in possession. His international debut was one to forget - a 5-0 defeat at the Stade de France in 2002. But he exacted his revenge four years later, scoring the winner against the French in a Euro 2008 qualifier at Hampden Park. Gary started his career at Newcastle United, moving on to Hibernian and then Celtic, where he won two Scottish Premier League titles plus Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup winner's medals in a four-year spell. He joined English Premier League side Wigan Athletic in January 2010, and was named captain ahead of the 2010/11 season.
