Biography
David represented his country at under-16s, 17s and 19s, and was a key member of the squad that made it to the play-offs for the 2011 UEFA Under-21 Championships. He made his debut for Craig Levein's side as a substitute in a 3-0 win over Faroe Islands in November 2010. David is a product of the Dundee United youth system and made his first appearance on 31 December 2005. He quickly became known as one of the most exciting young prospects in Scottish football. David scored in six consecutive league games early in season 2010/11 on his way to winning both the SPFA and Scottish Football Writers Young Player of the Year awards. In August 2011, after a summer of frenzied transfer speculation, he joined English Premier League side Blackburn Rovers.
