Biography
Peter Campbell was born in Rhu (Dunbartonshire) in the late 1850s. He died in January 1883. Campbell was, together with Tom Vallance and Moses McNeil, one of the founding fathers of Rangers FC. He was an able forward, helping the young club to the Scottish Cup finals of 1877 and 1879. He also scored in both his internationals, against Wales, and played for Glasgow against Sheffield. He turned out briefly for Blackburn Rovers in 1879/80 and retired from playing shortly afterwards.
