Biography
John Leck Kay was born in the late 1850s in Crossmyloof on the south side of Glasgow. A tall and fast wing forward his first senior club was Third Lanark where he won a Scottish Cup runners up medal in 1878 but he came to prominence with Queen's Park winning his first cap not long after joining them in 1879. He also won three Scottish Cup winners' medals in 1880 1881 and 1882. Returned to Third Lanark in 1883 and apart from a brief spell with Pollokshields Athletic stayed with the Cathkin club
