Robert Kelso

Robert Robison Kelso was born in Cardross Dunbartonshire on 2 October 1865. Died 10 August 1942. Started his career at Renton where he won the Scottish Cup in 1885 and 1888 also appearing in the 1886 final. Moved to Newcastle West End (a forerunner of Newcastle United) in 1888 after Renton were declared Champions of the World and then to Preston North End a year later. Preston were the outstanding team in England at that time and Kelso played right half in the team which won the Football Leag
