William Maxwell

William Sturrock Maxwell was born in Arbroath on 21 September 1876. Died in 1940. An interesting player whose dashing style attracted the attention of numerous clubs and first came to notice at an early age with representative honours for his home county of Angus while aged just 17. He joined Arbroath in 1893 and the following season as an amateur he turned out for Dundee and (once) for Hearts as well.
