Biography
William S Somers was born in the mid/late1850s, probably in Glasgow.
A right back, Somers was renowned as sure in the tackle and with a strong kick. He started at Glasgow Eastern, spent a year or two at Third Lanark from 1877 to 1878, and was with Queens Park from 1879 until his early retirment in 1881. He won the Scottish Cup with Queens Park in 1880, and was also a losing finalist with Third Lanark in 1878.
