William Baird

William Urquhart Baird was born in Leith on 1 October 1874. Date of death not known.
His playing career in the 1890s took him from Dundee to St Bernard’s (Edinburgh) around 1894 and back to Dundee again in 1899, and it was with the Edinburgh club that he had greatest success. Although he missed their cup final victory of 1895 he stepped into the team as centre half shortly afterwards.
