Biography
Robert Shearer was born in Hamilton (Lanarkshire) on 29 December, 1931. He died on 5 November, 2006.
The full-back, who was nicknamed Captain Cutlass for his combative style, started his senior career with Hamilton Academical in 1950, and quickly proved his versatility over the next five years. He move to Rangers in December 1955 and enjoyed a full decade with the Ibrox club, winning numerous honours: the Scottish League championship in 1956, 1957, 1959, 1961, 1963, the Scottish Cup in 1962
