James Speirs

James Hamilton Speirs was born in Glasgow on 22 March 1886. Killed in action on or around 20 August 1917. He joined Rangers from Glasgow junior team Maryhill in August 1905 and although he was soon scoring goals in the first team he never really hit the highspots. His solitary selection was a bit of a surprise as he had played less than half of Rangers' matches that season.
