Robert Bryson Templeton was born in Coylton, Ayrshire, on 29 March, 1880. He died on 2 November, 1919.
Bobby Templeton was a star of his era, an all round winger with tremendous skills that made him constantly in demand by the top clubs of his day. He began his football with various local teams in Kilmarnock, ultimately with Rugby XI, but (despite efforts by Hibernian) moved to Aston Villa in May 1898, the first of many senior clubs.
