Biography
Charles Thomson was born in Prestonpans, Scotland, on 12th June 1878. He played local football before joining Heart of Midlothian.
On 26th March, 1904, Thomson won his first international cap against Ireland. In 1908 he agreed to be transfered to Sunderland. That season Sunderland finished 3rd in the First Division. Their local rivals Newcastle United won the title with 53 points.
