Neil Dewar

Neil Hamilton Dewar was born in Lochgilphead (Argyllshire) on 11 November, 1908. Date of death not known. Despite being brought up in a relative footballing backwater, where he played for the local team Lochgilphead United, Dewar's goalscoring abilities ensured he made it into the professional ranks. He signed for Third Lanark in 1929 just before his 21st birthday, and scored 124 goals in just four seasons as Thirds returned to the First Division in 1930-31.
