Angus Douglas

Angus Douglas was born in Lochmaben (Dumfriesshire) on 1 January, 1889. He died on 14 December, 1918. A tricky winger, playing mainly at outside right, Douglas moved straight from local team Lochmaben FC to Chelsea in 1907 and, despite his youth, made almost 100 league appearances for the London team over the next six years. He was then transferred to Newcastle United, and played for a further year and a half before joining up for service in the First World War.
