Biography
Robert Flavell was born in Annathill (Lanarkshire) on 1 September, 1921. He died on 17 March, 2005. Bobby Flavell was an exceptional forward whose international career was curtailed partly by the war, and later by his decision to try football in Colombia. He joined Airdrieonians in 1940, and various postings in the London area during the war led him to guest appearances for Brentford, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. In 1947 he joined Heart of Midlothian for £10,000 and did well for the Tynecastle side.
