Biography
James Blair was born in Glenboig, Lanarkshire, on 11 May, 1888. He died on 28 February, 1964. Jimmy Blair was an all-round excellent footballer, plying his trade at left back. As a teenager he showed great early promise with Glasgow junior side Ashfield, earning junior international honours, but he did not win his first full Scotland cap until the age of 31. He turned professional with Clyde in 1908, and in six years took the team to two Scottish Cup finals in 1910 and 1912.
