Biography
James Bowie was born in Partick, Glasgow, on 9 July 1888. He died in 1969.
After making an early impact with Maryhill Juniors and Queen's Park, Bowie turned professional with Rangers in December 1910 to start a lengthy association with the Ibrox club, both on and off the pitch. As a creative inside forward, he specialised in making the openings for others, and was instrumental in the success achieved by Rangers before and after the First World War.
