Biography
Frank Brennan was born in Annathill (Lanarkshire) on 23 April, 1924.
A tall and powerful centre half, Frank Brennan was a key man for Newcastle United and Scotland in the immediate post-war years, the backbone of the defence. He started his playing career with Airdrieonians in February 1941, and stayed at Broomfield until after the war, earning a transfer to Newcastle in May 1946 for £7,500. He spent ten years with the club, the highlights being the FA Cup wins of 1951 and 1952.
