Biography
William Loney was born in Denny (Stirlingshire) on 31 May, 1879. He died on 6 March, 1956.
A centre half despite his lack of height (5 ft 7 inches), he was a great servant for Celtic as they won numerous honours in the early years of the 20th century. He won six consecutive Scottish League championship medals from 1905 to 1910, as well as the Scottish Cup in 1904, 1908 and 1912.
