John Alexander Lambie was born in Glasgow on 18 December, 1868. He died on 26 December, 1923.
Thought to be the youngest player ever to represent Scotland, Lambie showed considerable talent at an early age, turning out for Queen’s Park’s first team aged 16 and making his Scotland debut at the age of 17 years 92 days. He won the Scottish Cup in 1886, shortly before his first cap. He moved to London in 1888 and joined London Caledonians, also appearing regularly for the Corinthians and other
