Biography
William Miller was born in Glasgow on 20 October, 1924.
An excellent goalkeeper who was much loved by the Celtic fans, he started out with local teams in St Rollox, on the north side of Glasgow, and Maryhill Harp juniors, before being signed by Celtic in May 1942. He made his debut in August, still aged just 17, and remained at Parkhead until 1950 through some of the most difficult years of the club’s history - unusually for a Celtic player, he won no medals.
