Biography
Donald Ford was born in Linlithgow, West Lothian, on 25 October, 1944. A prolific centre forward who was something of a legend at Hearts, Ford was an intelligent player who combined his sport with a career as a chartered accountant. He joined Heart of Midlothian as an amateur in 1964 from Bo’ness United, and won 9 amateur international caps before turning professional in February 1967. He remained at Tynecastle until 1976, and spent a season with Falkirk before retiring.
