Biography
Alan David Hansen was born in Sauchie (Clackmannanshire) on 13 June, 1955.
After a brief period with Sauchie Juniors, Hansen stepped up to Partick Thistle in August 1973, although it was the following season before he became a regular in the first team as a central defender. Playing alongside his brother John, he won a Scottish First Division Championship medal in 1975/76, and in May 1977 he earned a move to Liverpool who paid £100,000 for his services.
