HERMES BRIDGE OF DON YFC
Hermes Bridge of Don YFC were formed in 2019 as a youth link to the adult club. Initially set up to cater for mainstream boy’s club football and a growing girl’s section. However, to support the return to sport following the pandemic, the club, through Tommy Bruce, felt there was a need in the area to provide Para football provision.
The club then worked in partnership with Scottish FA, Scottish Disability Sport, and Aberdeen Sports Village to create some taster sessions for children and young people with disabilities which has now developed into a regular weekly session. The group continues to grow with regular attendance every week.
It has become more than just a weekly coaching session for these players with every participant receiving a club training kit, end of season awards and offers a player pathway into the juvenile section of the club with disability session participants playing in a mainstream match and other training.

They have worked hard in bringing together some great organisations with the aim to develop a pathway in sport and football to encourage children back to sport following the pandemic.
The club are also involved with organising Para festivals where they teams play in a competitive environment against other teams from across Scotland.
