Coaches from the Scottish FA East Region recently attended the 2011 Coaching Conference at Links Park, Montrose Football Club.
The conference featured two guest coaches from the English FA, Regional Coach Development Managers Ian Bateman and John Griffiths, along with Professor Don McLaren, nutritionist at Everton Football Club and Raymond McKinnon from the Scottish FA Football Development Department.
The day included two practical sessions from Ian Bateman and Raymond McKinnon focussing on working with children and youth players respectively. Along with the practical sessions, the coaches were given presentations from John Griffiths and Don McLaren on their respective roles within their club/association and provided an insight into best practices for working with young footballers.
Ian Lowe, Scottish FA East Region manager: "I am delighted so many people were able to attend the conference this year. A big thank you goes to the four excellent guest coaches. I believe each person who attended the conference will take away something that will help improve their skill set and encourage them to keep improving and challenging themselves and their players"
The Scottish FA East Region would like to thank Montrose Football Club staff, East Region staff, Kennoway Boys Club, Carnoustie Panmure and Brechin City Boys for providing players, all of whom helped make the day a successful one
