Over 120 Coaches from the West Region and all over Scotland attended the Scottish FA West Region Coaching Conference on Sunday 1st July at Toryglen Indoor Arena.
The development day was aimed at coaches working at all levels of football from those in grassroots clubs, pro youth football through to the female and adult game and included a variety of practical sessions from the Academy coaches from West Ham United FC.
The two experienced guest tutors included:
Lead coach Danny Searle from West Ham United Football Club (Foundation Phase) and Trevor Bumstead, West Ham United Football Club (Development Phase), lead coach.
The tutors demonstrated a variety of practices that illustrated the link between the children and youth sections of the academy and the potential effect that each coach can have on a player during every stage of their development.
Danny Searle said: “I just want to thank the West Region for inviting and allowing me to coach at the coaching conference, I hope the participants enjoyed it as much as I did and the welcome I got from everyone that attended was superb.
"I was delighted to get so many questions about the club and hopefully we gave an insight about what we do at West Ham to try and develop our players.
Danny Bisland, West region club development manager, said: “I just want to thank St Mirren FC and in particular Frazer Robertson for arranging such enthusiastic and talented runners for the event.
"Finally I really appreciate the effort that so many coaches from all levels of the game made the effort to attend this event.
"The tutors delivery was excellent and I hope that all attendees went away with ideas on sessions that they can implement at their club.”
