Dundee City Council Sports Development team and The Scottish Football Association are looking to support all clubs looking to start up a new under 9 team for next season.

4v4 football is a great enjoyment and learning tool and can be used with children and adults of all ages as 4v4 provides the minimum numbers required for all of the principles of play.

Players will learn to defend and attack as well as learn to make decisions and develop football skills. This new class offers a Free In-service for Managers/Coaches/Volunteers. This class can be used as an extra training session or as your weekly training session, or to recruit new team members from Dundee City Council term time programmes who are looking to play for a team in their area.

4v4 football is an excellent introduction for young children to play small sided games in line with the SFA Developing Talent Plan.

The programme will consist of Futsal based activity; The ball is filled with foam which discourages the ball to bounce. This development allows players to control the ball easier and as a result provides children with the confidence to develop fundamental and advanced skills.

We are looking for children born in 2001/2002 who would like to join a team, and any DDYFA club looking to develop their team or increase numbers.

This class will begin on Friday 8 May 2009 at St Andrews PPP.
