Senior Pupils from secondary schools across the South West region have been busy brushing up on their coaching skills during the October holiday period. Over 100 students completed the Scottish FA Early Touches course with 25 pupils from South Lanarkshire completing the level two also. Shown in the photos are Students from South Lanarkshire and East Ayrshire while attending courses.

Over 600 S5/S6 students from the Region have attended Scottish Football Association coaching courses between August 2008 and October 2009 with over eighty young people volunteering and gaining invaluable coaching experience at grassroots level.

Funding from CashBack for Communities has created this fantastic opportunity for young people with a keen interest in our national game to achieve qualifications whilst gaining coaching experience. The CashBack volunteer development programme is a national initiative and is offered to all secondary schools in Scotland involved in the Scottish FA Bank of Scotland Soccer One programme.
