The Scottish FA and Aberdeen and District Juvenile FA (ADJFA) held an open Developmental 4v4 festival on Sunday at Lawsondale Pitches, Westhill near Aberdeen which proved to be a huge success.

Scottish FA North Regional manager Graeme Sutherland said “This event has built on the 6 week pilot of 4v4’s which we ran from April – June this year and there were almost double the amount of teams involved today which show that there is an appetite for this format of football. Over 60 coaches attended a 4v4 In-service event recently and this will ensure the youngsters involved in the programme will get good quality, appropriate coaching alongside the festival games programme.”

The event saw 40 teams from 15 clubs play 4v4 games in a festival format with all players benefitting from the small sided games format used on all 20 pitches. There will now be a 6 week winter block of festivals which will run throughout November, December and January in the Indoor pitch at the Aberdeen Sports Village and we look forward to seeing the players have the chance to enjoy this excellent facility.
