As part of Angus Council’s commitment to developing football in the area, the Angus Developmental 4’s (5-8 year olds) is about to re-start.

We are now looking to build on last years successful programme at Arbroath Sports Centre and would like to offer your club's Under 8s the chance to take part.

Why Play Developmental Fours?

Over the years there has been a reduction in street football - a natural playing experience which was important in producing talented footballers in Scotland.

Developmental fours gives an opportunity to introduce small sided games, replicating playground and street football games.

The programme gives children:

• More touches of the ball
• More 1v1’s
• More goals scored
• More decision making opportunities
• And more fun

Developmental 4s is not only used for young players, it is used at the top level to, with managers such as Sir Alex Ferguson using the concept in youth and first team training programmes.

Developmental 4s re-starts on 7 March 2009 and runs until 17 October 2009. With a three week break from 18 July 2009 until 9 August 2009.

Venue: Arbroath Sports Centre Astro Turf Pitch
Dates: 7 March-17 October 2009

(excluding 18, 25 July and 2 August 2009)
Time: 10.00am -12.00pm
Cost: £1 Per Week

This programme will help the youngsters develop in a relaxed environment with no pressure and be allowed to express themselves and improve their basic skills such as running, jumping and throwing, through Developmental 4 aside games.
