The Scottish FA, Bank Of Scotland and Angus Council have teamed up to introduce a Soccer One league to eight secondary schools within the Angus area as part of the Bank Of Scotland Soccer One programme.
The pupils will compete in league games once a month from September to May, with a break in December. Cup games will also begin in March next year.
Bank of Scotland Soccer One is a national network of football activity running in participating High Schools across Scotland from August to June. It runs in partnership with the Scottish FA and title sponsors Bank of Scotland, and the programme aims to create new football teams in schools for boys and girls, regardless of ability.
In the past two years, Bank of Scotland Soccer One has helped create over 400 new boys and girls school football teams, providing free coaching and games for thousands of young people who would previously not have had the chance to play.
In total, over 300 schools are currently participating across Scotland, reaching 8,800 young people.
Angus Council would like to thank everyone who has supported the set-up of the league, and wish all the teams a great success for the games ahead.
