Jim Smith attended an Investiture Ceremony at the palace of Holyroodhouse on Tuesday 12th July 2010.

Jim a local Sports Volunteer from Glasgow received an MBE from Her Majesty The Queen at the service last Tuesday. Jim was awarded an MBE in the 2010 New Year’s Honors list

Jim Smith is the Regional Secretary for the Scottish Youth Football Association in the West of Scotland; Jim has been involved in youth football for the past 30 years. Jim’s main role now is in the administration of the game as well as being the Tournament Director for the Glasgow City Cup which this year will be held over 3 venue from the 6th – 8th August and again is in conjunction with Glasgow City Council, with over 200 youth football clubs involved it is by far the largest youth football tournament of it’s kind in Scotland.

Jim said “ It was an honor to be recognised in the Honors list back in January, however going through to the Palace and meeting The Queen was such an experience.”
