The Scottish Senior Football Referees Association held their annual dinner at Hampden Park recently and dedicated to the proceeds to the Chris Mitchell Foundation.
The evening marks the appointment of the refereeing team for the Scottish Cup Final and was hosted by Paul Tanner, with a Q&A featuring Chic Charnley and Pat Nevin.
A red/yellow card game and online silent auction helped raise a total of £2500, which was accepted on behalf of the Chris Mitchell Foundation by trustees Philip Mitchell and Louise Rooney.
Kevin Clancy, Chair of the SSFRA, said: “Every year the SSFRA support the work of a local football or sporting-related charity.
“This year, we were honoured that the Chris Mitchell Foundation allowed us to raise money on their behalf.
“Chris was a familiar face to many of our members, always a pleasure to referee and a credit to his team-mates and family.
“We appreciate the value of the work that the Foundation undertakes in his name and know that the money raised by Scotland’s senior football referees will be put to good use.”
