Football coaches from all over the North East of Scotland congregated in Ellon on Wednesday 22nd April 2009 for the Scottish FA North Region coach in-service day.

The coaching seminar focused on the concept of 4v4 development football for Under 9s, and the creative player.

Over forty coaches attended the event, hosted by Aberdeen FC's Jim Crawford and Gavin Levey, and North Regional Club Development Manager, Mark Slater.

Jim Crawford demonstrated some of the creative player moves that players should be encouraged to practice, while Gavin and Mark demonstrated the development of the 4 v 4 game and various different small sided games. The games are designed to replicate street football - where youngsters play for the joy of the game.

The overall aim of the in-service day was to develop 4 v 4 football for the Aberdeen and District Juvenile FA (ADJFA) and North Regional Girls Football League Primaries Football (NRGFL).

If you would like to enter your club in 4 v 4 yfestivals,  or would like to become a coach or volunteer please contact ADJFA Secretary Raymond Kelly through or NRGFL Development Officer Claire Garrett on or 07891123330.

Many thanks to Ellon Meadows Football Club for acting as runners on the day, and for the use of their facilities.
