The Scottish FA East Region is delighted to announce the guest coaches that will be in attendance at the Scottish FA East Region Coaching Conference being held at Links Park, Montrose FC on Sunday 26th June.
Guest Coaches:
Ian Bateman, English FA Regional Coach Development Manager (5-11) North West
Ian is currently employed by The English Football Association specialising in working with players aged 5-11.
Ian currently holds a UEFA A licence and is a licensed Coach Educator for The FA. Prior to joining The FA, Ian spent 10 years working in the Academy at Bolton Wanderers and learnt his coaching trade at the Bobby Charlton Soccer School and in total spent 15 years with the organisation.
John Griffiths, English FA Regional Coach Development Manager (5-11) East Midlands
John has spent the last four years at The FA He currently holds a sports science qualification and an English A Licence. John has previously been employed at Nottingham Forest, where over six years he was responsible for coaching all elements of the players pathway from community to academy. He was also a Director of Football for a 16-19 Academy Programme in further education for four years. At that time he was appointed International Manager for English Colleges and spent four years developing the Regional and International Player Development programme.
Professor Don MacLaren Cert.Ed., BSc, MSc, PhD
Don is a professor of sports nutrition and is renowned for his expert publications on the subject in journals and books. He was secretary of the physiology section of BASES and is an accredited physiologist with the British Olympic Association. Being research active since 1980 he is in high demand when it comes to nutrition consultancy.
Don has worked with many of the most successful sporting teams in the world including Everton FC, Bolton Wanderers FC, Derby County FC, Northampton Saints RFC and England Ladies Football. With the significant advancements made in training methods and physical preparation in recent years it is absolutely vital that serious sports people understand the value of the correct nutritional requirements to aid recovery and performance.
Raymond McKinnon, Scottish FA Technical Development Officer
With over 15 years' professional playing and managerial experience from clubs such as Nottingham Forest, Dundee United and Aberedeen, we are delighted to welcome Ray to the line-up. Ray is currently employed with the Scottish FA and is a UEFA A Licence holder.
We anticapte a great demand for this years course and encourage any interested coaches or volunteers to book early.
