From 1 January 2017, anyone signing up for a Scottish FA coaching course (level 2 and above) is required to apply for a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) check before the commencement of the course.
Previously students could apply after completing the course.
If the student applies just before the commencement of the course they will be allowed to start the course, however should they not pass the PVG check they will not be able to finish their coaching course.
On applying for the courses, the applicant will receive a PVG pack to be completed and returned as a mandatory component of the course.
