Cove Rangers created the shock of the Scottish Gas Men's Scottish Cup Third Round as Paul Hartley's side saw off Championship table-toppers St Johnstone in extra-time at McDiarmid Park.
Uche Ikpeazu had given Saints the lead but prolific lower league marksman Mitch Megginson levelled to force an extra 30 minutes and Adam Emslie grabbed the winner to send Cove into the hat for the Fourth Round.
Cove have struggled in League One this season but manager Hartley - a Scottish Cup winner in 2006 - will be hoping that result can act as a springboard for their season.
Auchinleck Talbot also have a case to claim result of the day, with the Ayrshire side scoring four unanswered goals away to League Two side Dumbarton. Connor Boyd scored a brace either side of half-time and Kyle McAvoy also grabbed two goals as the West of Scotland Football League side progressed to Round Four.
The East of Scotland Football League will also have representation in the next round after Camelon Juniors scored a last minute winner to defeat another League Two side in Edinburgh City. Ross Kavanagh's first half goal was cancelled out by a strike from Lewis McArthur and the tie looked to be heading for extra-time before a late Dean Wilson goal secured Camelon's passage through.
Though St Johnstone came unstuck, the other nine Championship sides all progressed to Round Four, with Airdrionians, Ayr United and Ross County all securing comfortable victories over Hamilton Academical, Turriff United, Banks O'Dee respectively.
Greenock Morton came the closest to being shocked when they were taken to extra-time by Peterhead before eventually securing a penalty shoot-out win after a 2-2 draw.
Queen's Park had become the first team to book their spot in Round Four on Friday evening, when they came from behind to defeat Linlithgow 3-1 in front of the BBC Scotland cameras at Prestonfield.
East Fife manager Dick Campbell would have been eyeing up at upset against his former club Arbroath, but the Championship side were too good on the day, with Findlay Marshall and Gavin Reilly on target in a 2-0 victory.
A Chris Kane double helped Dunfermline to a 2-1 win over Queen of the South at KDM Group East End Park, while Partick Thistle eventually overcame a stubborn Forfar Athletic to record a 2-0 away victory, after goals from Ben Stanway and Alex Samuel.
Jordan Docherty scored the only goal of the game as Dougie Imrie began his Raith Rovers reign with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Alloa Athletic in Kirkcaldy.
Benburb had been one of the stories of the Scottish Cup so far this season, but this was a step too far for the lowest-ranked side in the competition as they fell to a 3-0 defeat to League One side Montrose in Govan.
Tranent's match against Inverness was postponed and will be played on Saturday, 6 December.
