Best Youth Football Club of the Year - Cowie United

Cowie United started in 2004 when a group of local parents got together to combat a lack of football opportunities for children within their community. Their development as a club has earned them the accolade of Best Youth Football Club at this year's Scottish FA Grassroots Awards, presented by McDonald's and the Sunday Mail.

Cowie United aim to provide an opportunity for all children, regardless of talent or ability, to participate in league football. Since 2004 the club has grown from 15 players to over 140.

The club also focus on the importance of exercise, healthy eating, team work and respect for others, and giving young people an enjoyable activity which diverts them from antisocial behaviour which could impact negatively on the rest of the community.
