Tuesday 15th June saw Deveronvale Football Club host a 5-a-side tournament in aid of support for learners bases in schools across Aberdeenshire at Princess Royal Park, Banff.
The tournament was a great success with a close final between Ellon Academy and Meldrum Academy - Meldrum Academy securing the victory.
Alan Still, Manager of Princess Royal Sports and Community Trust said “This festival provides valuable opportunities for the kids in the support for learner’s bases. They gain so much from the game of football and socialising with others from different schools”.
Claire Bonner the Grampian Regional manager for disability Sport said “This tournament is only the beginning for some of these players. If they show talent they can quickly move from playing schools football into the regional structure then fulfil a dream of playing for Scotland in the under 19 Learning disability squad”.
