Disability football opportunities are on the increase in the Scottish FA’s Central region thanks to the commitment of grassroots clubs.

Dumbarton Riverside , a Scottish FA accredited Quality Mark club, have been awarded the prestigious ‘Disability Club’ award for their work in providing disability football access.

David McArdle, Scottish FA disability development officer, said: “Clubs such as Dumbarton Riverside play an integral role in supporting the Scottish FA’s commitment to ensuring players with a disability have greater opportunities to access football.

“The club are one of only seven clubs across Scotland to be the first to be awarded the Scottish FA Disability Club award and I’m sure the team will be fantastic addition to Dumbarton Riverside’s club structure and be around for many years to come.”
