Series Two of the 7-a-side Football League for Fife pupils with additional support needs, organised by Disability Sport Fife with support from the Scottish FA, was recently held at Kirkcaldy High School. In attendance were David McArdle, National Development Manager - Disability and Scottish FA East Region Manager, Ian Lowe.

The League is played over three Series with a reward of the title of Fife Team Champions of 2012 and the honour of representing Fife at the Scottish finals to be held in May at Ravenscraig in the West of Scotland.  Teams from Balwearie High School, Woodmill High School and Lochgelly High School took part and the title will be decided towards the end of March when Series Three of the League will be contested.

The 7s League is one of the most popular additions to the calendar of events organised by DSF. New prospective participants such as Bell Baxter and Madras College have started to play inter school games with the prospect of joining the League at a later date.  The Scottish FA have encouraged schools to become involved  in the league from day one by offering resources such as balls, bibs and training packs. The provisional date for the third Series matches is 21st March.

DSF is indebted to the Rector and staff of Kirkcaldy HS for allowing use of their school pitches for the 7s League.
