15s SYFA Challenge Cup Final

Dyce BC v Kilsyth Athletic BC, at Excelsior Stadium, Airdrie

Dyce took the lead after 20 mins before Kilsyth equalised, against the run of play and off a Dyce mistake just before half time. Dyce looked as though they were in control of the first half but the equalising goal seemed to spur on Kilsyth as they were dominant throughout the second half but without managing to score.

Normal time ended with the teams tied at 1-1.

Extra time followed the same pattern as normal time with Dyce having the edge in the first half but with Kilsyth ruling the roost in the second. With teams still tied at one a piece the dreaded penalty shoot out beckoned.

Although Dyce missed a penalty the cup will make its way to Aberdeen courtesy of two great penalty saves by the Dyce keeper.

Congratulations to Dyce!

16s SYFA Challenge Cup Final

ALC Lewis v Bellfield BC, at Excelsior Stadium, Airdrie

In a very competitive final ALC Lewis snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Being 2-0 down at half-time and with Bellfield playing for half of the second half with ten men, having had a player sent off, ALC Lewis equalised from a penalty to make it 2-2 in the 4th minute of stoppage time of normal time.  This took the final into extra time.

The game went into extra time and with the teams still tied at 2-2 following the first 10 minutes of extra time it looked like penalties until up popped Lewis with a winning goal about 6 minutes from the final whistle.

Congratulations to ALC Lewis!

This is an excellent achievement by both North clubs and credit must go to both Dyce Boys Club and ALC Lewis for all the hard work they have put into developing the players to a standard where they have lifted the national trophies. Well done to all the coaches, officials and players attached to both clubs!
