Aberdeen FC lifted two trophies and Ross County also got in on the act at the 29th annual Aberdeen International Football Festival.
Despite terrible weather on Friday, which forced a pitch-change midway through the girls semi-final between East End and German side Regensburg, there was some fantastic football on display as teams from as far a field as the Faroe Islands descended on Seaton Park.
Thankfully the sun shone on finals day, and first up was the girls’ final with Aberdeen FC Girls United taking on East End.
Aberdeen sealed teh first of two trophies for their club with goals from Dani McAllister (2) and Alex Ackers securing a 3-1 win.
Next up was the boys’ U14s final between Aberdeen and Dundee Utd. Despite Jordan Allan giving Dundee Utd the lead, it was a double for the Dons thanks to two late goals from Cameron Smith.
Ross County sealed the boys’ U16s title with a comprehensive 6-1 win over Keith. Calum Booth headed Keith into the lead after 10 minutes, before Ross Naismith, Andrew Gardiner, Lee Fraser, Steven Ross, Tony Dingwall and Michael Grimes all netted for Ross County.
The Aberdeen Football Festival is an International Festival of Youth Football organised by Aberdeenshire & District Football Association.
This year 26 teams took part over the three youth categories, while adult teams can also compete in the Corporate 6s competition.
