Kilmarnock FC, in partnership with the Scottish FA, the Food Standard Agency and East Ayrshire Council have successfully completed the FSA Schools Programme.

Ten schools from East Ayrshire participated with around 300 pupils taking part.

The programme targets P5 pupils and aims to raise
awareness of the importance of healthy eating, food and personal hygiene, complimented by physical activity through football.

Some views from the participants:

''Food hygiene is really effective and the pupils enjoyed both the educational and practical parts'' Class teacher Auchinleck PS.

''The programme made children more aware that a healthy lifestyle involves a balance between all three components. Previously they would have concentrated purely on healthy eating.'' Class teacher Newmilns PS.
